Northeastern University will hold its first job fair for local residents on Wednesday, with hundreds of available jobs up for grabs.
“We are committed and dedicated to being a good neighbor and to provide resources and support to the surrounding communities,” Cheryl Whitfield, Assistant Vice
President of Talent Management & Organizational Development, said today in a phone interview.
The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Curry Student Center, Whitfield said. A number of vendors, such as Barnes & Noble, Staples, and Coca Cola will be present, as well as representatives from job training organizations.
Entry is free, and the school is offering prizes including printers, scanners, and a Nook.
Whitfield said that the prerequisites for jobs vary — some require a college degree, others do not.
