  • Maximizing the value of internships and co-ops

    Medium - 07/09/2015

Today I signed my first real job offer to be a junior designer at Localytics. I love the work. I love the people. I love the culture. I love the opportunity to grow. I didn’t receive the job offer because I’m an incredible designer, but because I showed a strong worth ethic and a willingness to learn.

In fact, my design background consists of one graphic design and one web design class I took while studying abroad in Italy. I’m actually going to graduate with a degree in Entrepreneurship & Finance.

Throughout my time at Northeastern, I’ve done three co-ops, all in marketing. These co-ops gave me opportunity to discover and realize my love for design. These six month internships were the most valuable part of my education and I wanted to share some things I learned with those embarking on their own.
