  • Mass. has regained jobs lost in last recession

    The Boston Globe - 03/22/2013

Massachusetts has regained all the jobs lost in the last recession after a steady recovery that has progressed faster than the nation’s.

The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development reported Thursday that employment in Massachusetts reached 3.3 million jobs, about 14,000 more than in April 2008, when employment peaked before the recession.

“That is a significant event,” said Northeastern University economist Alan Clayton-Matthews. “Job growth has been strong, and the economy has been growing.”
