  • Chicago sees drop in violence so far in 2017, but numbers still high

    James Alan Fox, of Northeastern University in Boston, noted that major U.S. cities such as Chicago still saw more killings a quarter century ago than today.

    “The only silver lining to the soaring rates of homicides and shootings that Chicago has experienced is that at some point they’ll go down,” he said. “I mean they can’t keep going up forever.”
