“The American public is going to have to recognize that there is always a slight possibility of an attack,” cautioned Edith Flynn, professor emeritus of criminal justice at Northeastern University.
“When you look at it statistically, it really is a very small number — in fact you’re more likely to be hit by lightning — but at the same time what happened in San Bernardino is likely to be repeated here in the United States,” Flynn said. “We’re going to have to live with it.”
