  • After Patagonia investment, Northeastern alum’s skateboard startup grows

    Boston Business Journal - 10/05/2015

Northeastern University alum Ben Kneppers came up with the idea for his startup after living in Chile and noticing the abundant plastic that was polluting the ocean, threatening the ecosystem and the wildlife.

His startup, Bureo Inc., is now taking marine debris (discarded fishing nets) and turning them into skateboards in an effort to help improve the marine ecosystem and promote sustainability and social change.
