As a senior at Northeastern University, I find myself gawking at how the freshman class gets larger and larger each year. This year, the enormous flock of new students this year got me thinking about the experiences I had during my first year at Northeastern. The experiences you endure as a freshman in college are different, exciting, frightening, and defining. And they’re strikingly similar to the experiences you endure as a brand new salesperson. Here are the four main similarities between starting college and starting a new career in sales:
