To carry out the study, the researchers responsible for it, Jacqueline McCleary of Northeastern University and Diana Scognamiglio of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, analyzed the light distortions from thousands of galaxies detected by the James Webb Space Telescope using the weak gravitational lensing technique.
