Dear Northeastern University community,

The renovation of Snell Library on the Boston campus continues its steady progress with construction now moving to the fourth floor, which will be closed for the spring semester. The top-to-bottom redesign of the library will provide enhanced study space with improved acoustic dampening, creative collaboration zones, a new café and event space, and improvements in access and technology.

While most of the library will remain open and accessible during various phases of construction, I wanted to remind students, faculty, and staff of additional, convenient study spaces located throughout the Boston campus. All members of the Northeastern community have access to both reservable and open-seating study areas, which can be found at In addition, look for signage throughout campus that will direct you to open space, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please follow us on social media (@NortheasternLib) or on our website for up-to-date construction and renovation news
