We’re not even midway through the first period, and both teams have had incredible scoring chances.
Northeastern forward Biagio Lerario nearly scored a goal early on. Boston College goalie Joseph Woll sprawled out to make a save and Lerario tried repeatedly to stuff the puck in the net with his stick, but Woll covered up the puck with his pads before it could slide past the goal line.
Then, a few moments later, there was furious activity in front the Northeastern net. As the puck trickled toward the net, a Boston College player slid and knocked the goal off its moorings right as the puck appeared to go into the net. The goal was waved off by the referee, and the call was upheld after a lengthy review, during which the Garden PA system played Billy Joel’s “The Longest Time.”
Still 0-0 here at TD Garden.
