Northeastern students, faculty, and staff can receive free flu shots and health screenings at a health fair on Wednesday at the university’s Boston campus.

The 12th annual Bouvé Health Fair and Flu Shot Clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Curry Student Center. Flu shots will be available, while supplies last, in the student center’s ballroom. The rest of the fair, which is being organized by Northeastern’s chapter of Phi Delta Chi, will take place in the indoor quad.

“We want people to be more passionate about taking care of themselves and their health,” said Serena Kang, a third-year pharmacy student who helped to organize the event.

Northeastern’s University Health and Counseling Services has ordered 3,000 flu shots for the event.

In addition to flu shots, visitors will be able to receive free blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood glucose screenings. Health education staff from the Neponset Health Center in Boston will also be at the fair to provide free screenings for HIV and Hepatitis C.

Members of Northeastern student organizations will be handing out information and speaking to attendees about a variety of health topics, such as drug abuse, exercise, and mental health. First-aid kits, hand sanitizer, stress balls, and other items will be available for free at the event.

The health fair coincides with a two-day blood drive on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sign up now to donate blood.
