The spring semester may be over, but there’s still plenty to do for those on campus this month. Check out volunteer opportunities, network with potential employers, catch a baseball game, and more.

Free ice cream!

Keepin’ It Cool, a laid back weekly series, offers free ice cream, novelties, and tunes for those on campus during the summer months. No registration is required. It will kick off on Wednesday, May 10 at 11:45 a.m. on Centennial Common and continue through August.

In the event of rain, Keepin’ It Cool moves to Afterhours.

Summer volunteer fair

Learn about summer service opportunities from more than 50 community partners at the Center of Community Service Summer Volunteer Fair on Thursday, May 11 at 11 a.m. on Centennial Common.

SEED competition

Check out some of the biomedical research projects that have been realized throughout the year with the help of Biotech Entrepreneurs bootcamps. At the final Science and Engineering Entrepreneurship Design Competition on Monday, May 15 at noon in the Fenway Center, the students behind those designs will compete for a $10,000 top prize.

Barry L. Karger Medal lectures and award

Established by Northeastern’s Barnett Institute of Chemical and Biological Analysis in honor of its founding director, the medal is a biennial award recognizing an individual who has significantly contributed to the development of new bioanalytical methods. The two-day event starts on Monday, May 15 at 3:30 p.m. in the Curry Student Center.

Husky Launch

Graduating seniors, recent graduates, and graduate-degree candidates who are actively searching for full-time career positions can check out the Husky Launch career fair for industry-specific networking opportunities and potential interviews with companies. The fair is on Tuesday, May 16 at 9 a.m. in the Curry Student Center Ballroom.

Women in the Law Conference

The ninth annual Women in the Law Conference provides career guidance and professional development growth to women attorneys and other professionals at all stages of their careers while bringing together powerful decision-makers from Boston and beyond. This year, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey will deliver the keynote address, held on Friday, May 19 at 8 a.m. in Dockser Hall.

Athletics

Catch your Huskies this month, too.

The baseball team will host James Madison for a three-game series, running from Thursday, May 18 to Saturday, May 20 at Friedman Diamond at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and at 1 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

Men’s rowing will compete in the Eastern Sprints Regatta championship in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Sunday, May 14.
