A showcase of student art

Before they receive their diplomas on Friday, graduating seniors in the Department of Art + Design had the opportunity to see their art pieces on display in a testament to their hard work while at Northeastern.

The department’s annual exhibit opened at Gallery 360 on April 30 and includes art, animation, graphic design, photography, and video art by seniors as well as students in the Information Design and Visualization graduate program. Department faculty curated the exhibit.

“These are part of a larger series of portraits I took of family and friends. I just wanted to capture the people in my life who are important to me. It’s very satisfying to see your work printed and displayed like this.”

“I started this project my first day of co-op at Sametz Blackstone Associates. They gave me some of the buzzwords and the idea, but I had control of the visual, which was awesome. It’s a piece I felt the most ownership of because I followed it through the entire process.”

“I was charged with developing the brand for Scout, Northeastern’s student-run design studio, and part of that process includes designing a logo and all the rules behind it.”
