Bacteria ARE Beautiful

Unsuspecting Northeastern students had a chance to see bacteria in a different light -- presented as art. See their reactions once we revealed what the pictures really were. Bacteria and their beauty will be the topic of the inaugural lecture by Nobel Laureate Sir Richard Roberts. After his talk titled "Why I Love Bacteria," the Distinguished University Professor in Northeastern's College of Science will sit down with President Aoun for a fascinating conversation that will cover Northeastern's partnership with the Ocean Genome Legacy, a biorepository of some of the oceans'  rarest and strangest species. Sir Richard is chairman of the board of OGL.

These beautiful photographs of bacteria were courtesy of Fernan Federici in the Haseloff lab at the University of Cambridge.

Join us for this event on Monday, March 24 at 4:00 p.m. in the Curry Student Center Ballroom.
