Along with events such as FanFest, a variety of varsity teams in action, musical performances, Homecoming Weekend 2013 featured Empowerfest, the university-​​wide launch of Northeastern’s $1 bil­lion Empower campaign. At Empowerfest, students, faculty, staff, and alumni were greeted to interactive exhibits ranging from marine science to entrepreneurial ventures to a video game design studio, all of which celebrated the university’s the past, present, and future.
