A grip on science

Irina Ter-Ovanesyan (center), a student at the Driscoll School (K-8) in Brookline, Mass., uses a device to measure hand-grip strength at Northeastern’s Human Performance and Exercise Laboratory in the Behrakis Health Sciences Center as part of the school’s  “Science Solstice” program.  Students participated in a series of measured physical fitness tests to learn about the science of exercise. At left, is exercise lab intern and UMass senior Thu Tram and at right is Driscoll School student Claire Bialek.
