Thursday classes canceled at Mass. campuses, administrative offices closed

The National Weather Service is forecasting that up to a foot of snow may fall on the Boston area starting Thursday morning. Heavy snowfall is expected to continue throughout the day and will be accompanied by high winds, creating hazardous travel conditions.

As a result, Northeastern has canceled all day and evening classes, and closed administrative offices for Thursday, Feb. 9.

An email to the university community on Wednesday evening said that “The safety of our community is our top priority, and keeping non-essential operations closed will ensure that our facilities crews can manage the effects of the storm and maintain a safe campus. Managers will assure that there is continuity of critical functions and staff may work remotely if feasible and appropriate.”

Online classes remain unaffected and will continue to be accessible to students. Northeastern’s regional campuses in Charlotte, Seattle, Silicon Valley, and Toronto remain open.

Campus services and hours of operation

Dining: The following dining locations will be open: Rebecca’s (7 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), Café Crossing (8 a.m.–3 p.m.), International Village (8 a.m.–8 p.m.), Stetson East (8 a.m.–8 p.m.), and Outtakes (noon–6 p.m.)
